Paul Jessie Merritt

Paul Jessie Merritt, Sr., 88, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on Monday December 9, 2013 at the Huntersville Oaks. Mr. Merritt was born June 13, 1925 in Alma, GA to the late Jessie and Esther Talbert Merritt. He served his county proudly for 4 years in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. After working for 20 years with the WA Buening Engravers, Paul opened the Merritt Graphics Co. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Men, Long Creek Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club. Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother Billy Merritt and sister Evelyn Hinson. Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Margaret Lenora Puckett Merritt; son, Paul Jesse Merritt, Jr. and his wife Phyllis of Davidson, NC; brothers, Manuel F. Merritt, of Charlotte, NC, Jim Merritt and his wife Norrie of Cincinnati, OH; sister, Myrleen Page of Albemarle, NC; grandchildren, Paul Jesse Merritt, III and Cassie Rae Merritt of Davidson, NC; sister-in-law, Peggy Puckett Marshall and her husband, Jack. The family will receive guests on Friday December 13, 2013 beginning at 1:00 pm in the Family Life Center of Trinity United Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church with Rev. Wade Ogle officiating.
