Patty Sue Chareq, 76, of Charlotte, NC passed away on June 7, 2016. She was born in Prestonsburg, KY on January 18, 1940 to the late Daniel Goble and Pauline Campbell Goble.
She is survived by her daughter, Laila Perez and husband Victor; son, Jim Chareq and wife Laurie; granddaughters, Stephanie Thorne and husband Ryan, Angelica Perez; and grandson, Nicolas Perez. She also leaves behind three sisters and two brothers.
Patty was a country girl from the hills of Kentucky. In her younger years, she loved to travel. She spent many years in Morocco and learned to speak both French and Arabic. She showed her love and gratitude through generous gifts. She took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren. Patty enjoyed cooking for her family and hosting holiday celebrations. Some of her favorite past-times included listening to Patsy Cline and watching Murder She Wrote. She loved to dance when she was young and able. Patty was strong-willed and independent to the end and loved watching her religious programs on Sundays.
A funeral service will take place at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the chapel at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 pm.
Following the service she will be laid to rest at Northlake Memorial Gardens, Huntersville, NC.
