Patricia Anne Kerr

February 19, 1943 — December 10, 2024

Concord

Patricia Anne (Dozier) Kerr, a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and cherished sister, was born on February 19, 1943, in Hudson County, New Jersey. After a life rich with community service, family devotion, and insurmountable compassion, Patricia departed from this world on December 10, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever be cherished.

For over 40 years, Patricia called Jackson, New Jersey, home, where she became a familiar and a beloved figure through her career as a school bus driver for Jackson schools. Pat was known for her unique style, driving the bus with a cowboy boot on the front of the bus while playing country music, creating an atmosphere of joy and warmth for her young passengers. Her dedication to her job reflected her merciful and compassionate nature, traits that defined her throughout her life.

Patricia's educational journey began at St. Mary’s High School in Rutherford, NJ, where she laid the foundation for a life driven by faith and community. She was a woman of deep conviction, caring for everyone she met and embracing them with open arms. Patricia never saw anyone as less than extremely important at any moment, leaving a profound impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In recent years, she had the opportunity to travel to Ireland with her loving husband, James R. Kerr, Sr. for their 60th wedding anniversary. This memorable journey became a treasured highlight in a life filled with joy.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James R. Kerr, Sr., who stood by her side through all of life’s valleys and peaks. She leaves behind her daughters, Deborah Ottmer and husband Daniel, Sharon Kuhn, Colleen Weathers and husband Ande, Kathleen Caron and husband David, and Peggy Kerr, as well as her son, James R. Kerr, Jr. and wife Karen. The happiness of her many "21 blessings," her 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, was a source of immense pride and joy for Patricia.

Her legacy also continues through her siblings, including her sister, Maryanne Scullion and husband Kevin, her brother, Thomas Dozier and wife Sonia and several nieces and nephews. Along with them, Patricia will be remembered for her love and kindness—that light in the world which will continue to shine brightly through her family.

Patricia is welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved parents and her four brothers, along with one grandson, who all held special places in her heart.

A memorial service in her honor will take place on Saturday December 14, 2024, at Grace Covenant Church located at 17301 Statesville Rd, Cornelius, NC 28031, starting at 11:00 AM.

There will also be a service in NJ on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at The Church of Grace & Peace located at 1568 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755, starting at 11:00 AM.
