Oren Lee Hyland, Sr.

Mr. Oren Lee Hyland, Sr., 91, of Charlotte went to be with the Lord August 23, 2016. He was born August 23, 1925 to the late William David Hyland, Sr. and Lucille Seldomridge Hyland. He was reared by his beloved step-mother Ruby Blackley Hyland. Oren served in the U.S. Army Air Force in World War II in New Guinea. He retired from General Motors Training Center.
Mr.Hyland was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Addie Mae Miller; daughter, Donna H. Woidyla; brother, William David Hyland, Jr.; sister, Helen H. Shropshire; step-sister, Polly Shropshire.
Oren is survived by his loving family; daughter, Terry H. Keith (Ronald) of Huntersville; son, Oren L. Hyland, Jr. "Chip" (Kim) of Matthews; grandchildren, Rodney Satterfield, Kesha Knotts, Sloan Hyland, Spencer Hyland; great-grandchildren, Mark Wesley Scott, Justin Scott, Kasey Underwood, Jaxon Knotts; great-great-grandchildren, Jude Scott, Peyton Underwood, Addilyn Underwood and Cooper Scott.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville with Pastor Steve Bass officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Concord, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
