Opal Phillips

Opal Phillips, 98, of Charlotte, NC passed away on April 22, 2018. She was born in Jacksboro, Tennessee on September 13, 1919 to the late Neales Brown Boshears and Bertha Gross Boshears.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Phillips; daughter, Donna Jean Phillips; son, Robert Clarence Phillips.

Opal is survived by her daughter, Tommie Lynne Godfrey of Charlotte, NC; son, Gary Brown Philips of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Alan Sterling, Seth Peoples, Mary Rose, Linzi Phillips; four great-grandchildren; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Opal enjoyed cooking, bowling, and reading, but above all she loved her family.

Services will be held in Maryland by Robert E. Evans Funeral Home.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Veterans Organization of the donor’s choice.
