Olivia Paige Sturgill, 25, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 21, 2024 due to diabetic complications.
She was born March 12, 1999 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Olivia was a vibrant and beautiful soul, inside and out. She was the most incredible daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, girlfriend, friend, and nurse. She was passionate about loving and caring for others and found the greatest joy when she was sharing her time and talents with others. Olivia’s love language was gift giving and nothing brought her more joy than surprising her loved ones with thoughtful gifts, big or small. More than anything, she loved her family and truly cherished every moment spent with them.
Olivia graduated among the top of her class in 2021 from East Carolina University with her Bachelor's of Nursing degree. She was passionate about her career as a nurse and went above and beyond for every one of her patients. When she began her career as a hospice nurse, she had truly found her niche and provided impeccable care for her patients and their families, making a profound impact on each of them.
Mere words cannot capture the amazing essence of Olivia or the magnitude of her spirit. She was quick-witted, genuine, funny, brilliant, beautiful, and driven. She was kind and sweet and always found a way to make life more fun.
Words cannot adequately describe all that her life encompassed. She excelled at everything she put her mind to. She was nurturing and both loved and was loved fiercely. She was fearless and had a heart for adventure and fun experiences. Starting with downhill skiing as a toddler to hot air balloon rides, going to countless concerts no matter the cost for front row seats, and traveling to fun cities with friends. She dreamt of being a wife and mother and to be the best aunt to her future nieces and nephews. She found tremendous joy in caring for her many foster siblings, especially the newborns. She took every opportunity to care for them, willingly took on sleepless nights, and delighted in buying them everything she thought they possibly liked, needed or wanted.
She is survived by her adoring parents, Jon and Erin (Love) Sturgill; beloved brothers, Drake Sturgill, Grant Sturgill, and Kade Sturgill; step-siblings, Matthew Sturgill and Lucy Sturgill; love of her life, Micah Dellinger; grandparents, Debra Love, and Kelly and Jennifer Love; aunts and uncles, Kelli and Ryan Brokaw and Ann and Mike Hankinson; great-grandparents, Palmer and Betty Love and Sue Albright; a large and loving extended family, as well as her Hospice coworkers, dear friends and patients that she considered family as well.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Lake Forest Church Westlake, 2204 St. James Church Rd., Denver, NC 28037. A Celebration of Life will be held following visitation at 3:00 pm with Chaplain Jonathan Allen officiating.
