Novlette Marie Slade

Novlette Slade, 52, passed away July 7, 2019 at CMC Mercy Hospital, in Charlotte, North Carolina after a 22-year fight with lupus.

Mrs. Novlette Marie Slade was born on February 27, 1967 in Montego Bay, Jamaica to Daisy Willocks. She gained Four Accounting degrees, her last being a Masters Accounting in Taxation from Strayer University in 2011. She also had a successful career as an Accountant specializing in Tax and Compliance. She married Howard Slade on August 18, 1990. They raised two daughters, Allison Tena Slade and Jasmine Marie Slade. Mrs. Slade moved From New Jersey to Charlotte, North Carolina in 1998 and was heavily involved in researching and learning all she could about the lupus she was diagnosed with. Mrs. Slade lived and loved life with a passion for caring for her family all while frequently saying “I am not going anywhere, I have two girls to raise and I have to get them to the point where they can take of themselves”. In her spare time she enjoyed super couponing and thrift shopping.

Her family paid this tribute to her. ‘Novy’ was a super wife and mom there was nothing that she couldn’t do, from making her own curtains and Halloween costumes to being a master cook. She could give you advice on any subject and was truly one of a kind. She will definitely be missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, mother, step-mother, sisters and brothers. All of the following are named respectively: Howard Slade, Allison Tena Slade, Jasmine Marie Slade, Daisy Willocks, JoAnn Anderson, Tashannyo Medley, Chevonne Dixon, Marcelle Mcswain, Pearllita Davis, Sandra McIntyre, Christopher Medley, and Clifton Anderson.

A visitation will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078. Her memorial service will follow the visitation at 11am.
