Norma Janet “Lindstol“ Roberts of Mooresville, NC passed away at the age of 90 on November 20, 2018 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC. She was
born in Revere, MA and previously lived in Reading, MA and Exeter, NH.
Norma graduated from Revere High School in 1946, obtained a BS from the
Bouve-Boston School of Tufts University in 1950, a Master in Health Education from Boston University in 1972, and a Master in Secondary Counseling from Northeastern University in 1977. Norma served in the Andover, MA school system for 23 years, first teaching health education and later as a guidance counselor at Doherty Middle School.
Norma was active in many groups, including the Portsmouth Yacht Club, the
PEO Sisterhood, and was the former President of the Exeter Area Garden Club. She sang with the Sounds of the Seacoast competitive women’s barbershop chorus for fifteen years and served on various committees of the Exeter Congregational Church and several terms on the Exeter Recreation committee.
For many years Norma enjoyed sailing the New England Coastal waters with her husband Ken in their cruising sailboat Eaglet. They moved to Mooresville, NC in 2011 and became active in Williamson’s Chapel.
Norma was pre-deceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Kenneth P.
Roberts and their daughter Wendy. She leaves behind their daughter Kim and
husband Drew, 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 1:00 pm on January 6, 2019 in the chapel at Williamson Chapel, 589 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, NC. Suggested memorial donations in lieu of flowers can be made to either the Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625 or Williamson’s Chapel, Future Faculty Expansion, 575 Brawley School Road, Mooresville NC 28117.
