Norma Jean Phuntek

  Norma Jean Phuntek, 73, of Denver, NC passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on December 7, 2016 in Cornelius, NC.  She was born on September 26, 1943 in Scottdale, PA to the late Ralph and Dorothy Schroyer.  After graduating from East Huntingdon High School in 1963 Norma married her soul mate, John, in 1965.  The following year they moved to Syracuse, NY where she selflessly devoted her life to raising her 5 sons. At the age of 50 Norma went back to school and fulfilled her life long dream of becoming a nurse.  She semi-retired at 62 and relocated to North Carolina to be close to her children.  More than anything Norma loved her family and her caring nature was a blessing to her 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, all of whom she adored.

  Norma is survived by her husband of 51 years, John William Phuntek of Denver, NC; sons, Brian Keith Phuntek and wife Cindy of Huntersville, NC; Timothy Allen Phuntek and wife Ann of Huntersville, NC; William Curtis Phuntek and wife Kathleen of Stanley, NC; Christopher Lee Phuntek and wife Michelle of Fort Mill, SC; and John Michael Phuntek and wife Amanda of Davidson, NC; grandchildren Andrew, Jeremy, Brandon, Maggie, Haylee, Carson, Emilee, Addison, Matthew, Caden, and Amelia; 1 great grandchild Grady; 7 sisters and 1 brother. 

 
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. Funeral services will be private.
