Nikolas Fotinos

July 22, 1947 — December 7, 2021

Nikolas Fotinos, 74, of Iron Station, North Carolina passed away on December 7, 2021.

He was born July 22, 1947 in Viki, Chios, Greece to Michael Fotinos and Kalliopi Kavournias.  He emigrated from Greece to the United States of America at the age of 23.  On April 22, 1971 he married the love of his life, Maria Pitskoulis, who preceded him in death on November 15, 2020.  He was a successful restauranteur in which he gained a tremendous amount of friends over the years.  He owned and operated restaurants for 50 years.  He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and brother.  He was the loving patriarch of the Fotinos family whose advice on life was invaluable.  He will be dearly missed as is his beloved wife Maria.  We take solace that their two inseparable souls are together again.

Nikolas is survived by his loving children, Michael Fotinos and his wife Penny, and Dr. Peter Fotinos and his wife Virginia; his adoring grandchildren, Nicholas, Kalliopi, Panagioitis, and Tatiana; his dear sisters, Kostandina Flouris and husband Michael of London, Katerina Meligregoris and husband Luie of Canada; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Boulevard, Charlotte, beginning at 11:30 am on December 10, 2021 followed by the funeral at 12:30 pm.  Nikolas will be laid to rest next to his wife at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Nikolas to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203.
