Nellie Baker

Nellie M. Baker age 89 formerly of Perry,NY died Saturday morning June 29, 2013 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, N.C. She was born in Avon, NY on March 21, 1924, daughter of the late Stewart (Ethel) McMaster. Nellie was self-employed, doing housekeeping for many homes in the area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perry,NY and attended Center United Methodist in Concord, N.C. She helped out with various church activities, she also enjoyed watching golf and racing. She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Eugene & John McMaster, 2 step sisters Ruth Wheaton and Florence Fleishman, and foster brother, Ralph Jenks. Nellie was the loving mother of Virgina "Ginny" (Charles) Toor of Barefoot Bay, Fla. and Sharon "Sherry" (Douglas) Hewitt of Concord, NC. A sister; Hazel Pate of Southern Pines, NC, Foster brother; Duane (Ann) Jenks of Simpsonville, SC along with 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Eaton Watson Funeral Home, Perry, NY on July 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 6, 2013 at 11AM at the First United Methodist Church 35 Covington St. Perry, NY 14530.
