Nell Bradford Jenkins

Nell Bradford Jenkins, 85, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2011. Mrs. Jenkins was born July 13, 1925 in rural Mecklenburg County east of Davidson to the late Robert Caldwell Bradford and Mamie Alspaugh Bradford. She was a graduate of the Womens College now UNCG; the author of They Would Call It Ramah Grove A History of Ramah Presbyterian Church; gardener and former President of the Davidson Garden Club; an avid reader and member of the Eighteen Book Club; and Executive Secretary at General Time before her retirement. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday December 14, 2010 at Ramah Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Immediate surviving family members include her son and daughter and their families: Lawson Fay Jenkins III, daughter-in-law Martha Cooke Jenkins, and their sons, Phillip Bradford Jenkins and Adam Caldwell Jenkins and his wife Jackie; Lynn Jenkins Herring, son-in-law, Don Puckett Herring, and their son, Alexander Jenkins Herring. She is also survived by her brother Robert Caldwell Bradford. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband Lawson Fay Jenkins Jr. and her brother, James Webster Bradford In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ramah Presbyterian Church, Crossnore or the American Cancer Society.
