Nancy Elizabeth Neel Rankin

Nancy Elizabeth Neel Rankin, 93, of Stanley, NC died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville. She was born August 16, 1918 to the late Avery Young Neel and Pearl Alexander Neel in Iredell City, NC. Mrs. Rankin was the oldest member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a homemaker. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2151 Zion Church Rd., Alexis, NC with Rev. Charlie Wilborn and Rev. Phillip Tillman officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Mooresville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 12:00- 1:00 at the church She leaves to cherish her memory her sons; Glenn Callaway and wife Doris of Alexis, NC, Paul Callaway and wife Kathy of Mooresville, NC and James Sifford and wife Barbara of Winston-Salem, NC, one brother, Pressley Neel of Mooresville, NC, six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and extended family of A.Y. Neel, Sr. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Glenn Callaway, Sr., Neal Sifford, and Jay Rankin, six brothers; Horace, A.Y., Ernest, Jimmy Lee, Keener and John Parks Neel and one grandson, Brad Callaway.
