Nancy McPeak Deem

Nancy Paxton Deem was born on June 16, 1944 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. She died August 15, 2022 at an Atrium Health facility in Charlotte, NC.
She was one of six children born to the late Robert Newton Paxton and Anna Margaret McPeak Paxton. The family moved to Vienna, West Virginia in the 1950’s. Nancy called this home for most of her life. Later in life she moved to the Charlotte, North Carolina area to be with her daughters and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Foggin of Newport News, VA; brother-in-law, Edgar Rexroad of Columbia, SC; and son-in-law, Michael Perry of Waxhaw, NC.
Nancy met the love or her life, Bernard (Bernie) Deem in high school and they married after she completed her teaching degree at West Virginia Wesleyan College. They celebrated more than 56 years happily married. Spending time with family, playing cards, playing golf, and taking care of everyone were her hobbies.
In addition to Bernard, Nancy leaves behind the remainder of her immediate family, daughter, Kristen Perry of Waxhaw, NC and daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Andy Brode of Mooresville, NC and her beloved grandchildren, Kathryn Perry and Madalyn Perry of Raleigh, NC, Maddox Brode of Mooresville, NC and Lauren Perry of Waxhaw, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, NC. The family will receive guests immediately following the memorial service.
