Miriam Oxendine

May 15, 1959 — February 22, 2019

Miriam Oxendine, born May 15,1959, aquired her wings on February 22, 2019. She is survived by her mother, Peggy Kimmons; her husband, James Oxendine; sons Chesley, and Isaac Oxendine; her daughter, Amanda Oxendine and her husband, Chad Webb; grandsons, Cayden Oxendine, Caleb Webb, and her future granddaughter, Isabella Webb due in June; her sister Tonna Painter and husband, Neal Painter; nephew Josh Painter and wife, Diana; nieces Kelsey and Haley Painter; her nephew, Josh Chavis and wife Rachael; and her dear friend, Kevin Brinkley. Miriam was preceded in death by her father, James Kimmons.

Miriam was an Exceptional Needs Teacher at North Mecklenburg High School from 1999 to 2017, as well as serving as the Assist. Debate Coach. The debate club was one of her greatest joys. Miriam had a special gift of empathy and a deep love for her students.

She was especially proud of all of her children and recently enjoyed experiencing a cruise with her daughter, Amanda, where they were able to swim with the dolphins - a lifelong dream of Miriam’s.

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 2nd, 2:00 PM at Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 N. Highway 16, Denver, NC 28037. A service to celebrate Miriam's life will follow immediately at 3:00 PM.

I lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Lincoln County Region-900 Dontia Dr., Lincolnton, NC 28092 or to Denver United Methodist Church, 3910 N. Highway 16, Denver, NC 29037.

Arrangements are in the care of Raymer-Kepler Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
