Milton Louis Newcombe, Jr. 54 of Iron Station, NC died Friday May 23, 2014 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, exactly where he would want to be. Born December 9, 1959 in Wilson, NC he was a son of late Milton "Bud" Louis Newcombe, Sr. and Betty Newcombe. He was a graduate of Fike High School in Wilson, NC, attended the University of Maryland, was an organ donor providing the gift of sight and was Senior Operations Support Representative for Schneider National. He was an avid NASCAR fan and grill artist extraordinaire. A US Army veteran he was an integral part of many overseas operations during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Memorial Services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Wednesday May 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sue Newcombe, sons: Steven (Crystal) Newcombe, Wesley (Amber) Newcombe; daughter Chrystina (Brett) Van Stempvoort; brothers, Jimmy Overman, Keith Bass; sisters, Tammy Newcombe, Jenny Newcombe; grandchildren, Madicyn, Chloe, Dane, Savannah, Dalton, Zachary and Cortana and mother, Barbara J.
