Mildred Hope Harkey Hooper

Mildred H. Hooper, 85, of Concord, NC died on November 25, 2016 at CMC NE in Concord.  Mildred was born June 29, 1931 in Denver, NC to the late Willie Springs Harkey and Leon Hinkle Harkey.  Mildred was a member of the Busy Bees Senior Citizen Club and a former secretary of the Huntersville United Methodist Church and former member of The Eastern Star.   She loved country music and enjoyed singing in a quartet. She retired from (First Union) Wells Fargo after 32 years of service, as a banker/customer service representative.


A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 1:30 - 3:00 pm at Fairfield United Methodist Church, 7860 Fairfield Forest Rd., Denver, NC.  A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at the church.

Along with her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her son, Jepty M. Hooper, Jr.; brothers, Brody, Hall, Carl, Billy, Russell, and David Harkey; and sister, Christine Brawley.

Mildred is survived by her daughters; Sherry Hooper of Raleigh, NC, and Nancy Hooper Dellinger of Denver, NC; grandchildren, Carmen Abernathy, Jeremy Lilly, Lindsey Hooper, Courtney Hooper, Katlyn Pertyl and Ryan Childers; seven great-grandchildren, sister, Ruth Dellinger of Stanley; and companion, Reid Moore.
