Michael Reese Untz

Michael Reese Untz, 52, of Mt. Holly, NC passed away Monday June 11, 2012 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Huntersville, NC. Michael was born November 5, 1959 in Charlotte, NC to Reese and Linda Fennell Untz. He was a lineman for Duke Energy for 32 years. Michael was a member of the Long Creek # 205 Masonic Lodge in Huntersville and the Eastern Star Chapter 151. He loved and enjoyed the Lineman's Rodeo and coaching the Long Creek Mustang softball team. Michael was preceded in death by his daughter Christy Leigh Untz. Along with his parents he leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Cheryl Cooper Untz, daughters; Kimberly Untz Key (Michael James), Tamie Untz (friend Kevin Boone), Kaitlyn Seay, brother; Mark Untz and his wife Michelle and children Marcus and Laura,and mother of Kimberly and Tamie; Joyce Smith Untz and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday June 14, 2012 from 6-9 PM at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. Friends will then be received on Friday June 15, 2012 at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Huntersville, NC from 10 AM until the time of service at 11AM with Rev. Allen Purtill officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Home for Children - Oxford, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
