Mr. Brown of Davidson passed away peacefully on May 21, 2011 at his home after a six-month battle with lung cancer. Mike fought the disease with every fiber of his being and was brave throughout the process. Mike was born in Marblehead, Mass. on January 15, 1942 to Carl and Nathalie Brown. He attended the University of Colorado and New York University. Mike had a successful 30-year career with IBM. Throughout his career, he and his family lived in New Milford, Connecticut, Flowermound, Texas and on Lake Norman. For the last two years, he and his wife have resided in Davidson, NC. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lucia Brown, his daughter, Patricia Brown, of Washington, DC, his son, Jeffrey Brown, of Hong Kong, his grandson, Nicholas Holden Cooper, son-in law, Lane Cooper, and daughter-in law Christine Chen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Nathalie Brown, his brother, Dr. Neil Brown and his Aunt Berle Holden. Mike was a fun loving and caring man who enjoyed spending time with his family on Lake Norman. His quick wit, spontaneity and creativity will be deeply missed. Funeral services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 217 Brawley School Road, Mooresville, N.C. on Thursday May 26 at 11AM.
