Michael Robert Feldman passed away on June 5th in Huntersville, NC. He was 61 years old. Michael was born May 17, 1962, in Philadelphia, PA to late Edith and Isaac Feldman. He graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He later graduated from the University of California at San Diego with a PhD in Advanced Mathematics and Applied Physics. Michael then began a teaching career at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he started the first Electrical Engineering PhD program for the university. This program led to his forming of Digital Optics Corporation and later TI Visions.
Michael was a fantastic husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He had a mild manner about him, coupled with astute knowledge of business and a deep desire to grow families and businesses alike with a team first atmosphere. He cared tremendously about his family as well as all of his staff at the companies he founded. His favorite superhero was Spiderman as he loved to quote “with great power comes great responsibility”. He liked to watch the Game of Thrones series and play games with his wife and daughters. He ran the 800 meter for the Duke University track team and fittingly one of his favorite songs was “Born to Run”. Michael was an avid lover of all the Philadelphia sports teams and a passionate follower of Duke basketball!
He is survived by his wife Anne Denise Feldman; daughters Morgan Feldman (Kirin) and April Feldman (Sean); sisters, Ellen Feldman (Ron) and Andrea Feldman (Rolf); father-in-law Bobby Wooten (Juanna); brother-in-law Robert Wooten (Kristin); sister-in-law Jennifer Wooten; Nieces Stephanie Burgess (Mason) and Laura Norgaard; nephews, Matt Brockman, Greg (Anna), Phil Brockman, Stephan Norgaard (Bianca), Robbie Wooten, Owen Wooten (Erin) and Bennett Wooten.
