Melba Unitis

Melba Louise Unitis, 87, of Huntersville, North Carolina died Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019 at Huntersville Oaks.  

She was born August 20th, 1931 in Cherokee, Iowa to the late Madeline Harrelson (Kern) McCaslin and Ethred B. Kern.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Kern.

Melba is survived by her husband, Edward Richard Unitis, Sr.; son, Alexander Edward Unitis II and wife, Lynn, of Enola, PA; daughter, LeeAnn Goggans of Huntersville, NC; son, Jeffrey Stevens Unitis and wife Karen, of Boiling Springs, PA; son, Edward Richard Unitis, Jr. and wife, Chellie, of Huntersville, NC; ten grandchildren, Marissa, Laura, David, Michael, Jennifer, Brandon, Tony, Ashley, Carder, and Taylor; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Thomas, Christopher, Michelle, Dylan, Gage, Cameron, Alakai, and Carson.  

In her free time, Melba loved to travel and gamble.  More than anything, she loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Melba will be missed terribly and always remembered as a loving, caring being who didn't have a mean or selfish bone in her body.

Services will be held privately by the family.
