Maureen E. Nowak

Maureen E. Nowak PLS, 76, of Cornelius, NC passed away on June 26, 2018.

Maureen was born in Rathway, NJ on September 5, 1941 to the late William and Mary Erbeck.

She was a former resident of Bound Brook, Branchburg and Somerset, NJ. Maureen and her husband, Frank, moved to North Carolina in 2017. She worked as a legal assistant in New Jersey for many years. Maureen was a Certified Professional Legal Secretary (PLS) and taught courses for the certification of others. She was a past president of The Somerset County (NJ) Legal Secretaries Association and former SCLSA Secretary of the Year.

Maureen very much enjoyed time with family, travel, Canasta, and the NJ shore. She was a former Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frank Nowak; son, David Nowak of Somerset, NJ; daughter, Susan Lilly of Washington, NJ; son, Christopher Nowak of Davidson, NC; grandchildren, Carter Lilly, Emma Nowak, Christopher Nowak Jr., and Matthew Nowak. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen Erbeck of Madison, NJ as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00pm on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Mt. Zion Community Church Cemetery, Cornelius, NC.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
