Mattie Lee Polston Almond

Mrs. Mattie Lee Polston Almond, 89, of Huntersville, NC died Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Oaks Nursing Home. Born December 29, 1922 in Darlington SC she was the daughter of the late Pless W. Polston and Maude Harold Polston. Mrs. Almond was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she served on a church circle and was a retired officer of Bank of America. Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday November 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery in Morganton, NC. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Rebecca Fennell of Charlotte; step children, Douglas Almond of Cookville, TN, Karen Holliday of Charlotte, Janice Givens of Memphis, TN; grandsons, Kevin Kennedy and wife Carolyn, their daughter, Dallis of Simpsonville, SC, John Kennedy, his daughters, Morgan and Elizabeth Kennedy and his fiancée, Marcie Campbell, her daughter Holly of Kings Mt. NC and Michael Kennedy of Charlotte. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, James C. Harris and Oscar F. Almond.
