Mary G. Vinson

Mary G. Vinson of Davidson, NC passed away at her home on November 11, 2018 at the age of 92.  Born and raised in Millen, GA, Mary attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, GA where she received a B.A. in Business Administration.  After graduation, she worked In Atlanta and then Chapel Hill, NC, where she met her beloved husband, William D. Vinson.  They were married in 1952 and as Bill embarked on a lifetime career with General Electric Co., Mary embarked on a lifetime of devotion to her husband and family.  Bill’s career with GE took them to Asheboro, NC, White Plains, NY, Rockville, MD, Cincinnati, OH and Trumbull, CT.  In 1987 they moved to Bill’s family home in Davidson, NC, where for three decades they delighted in a retirement blessed with friendships, family, and the treasures of Davidson College and the Town of Davidson.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, and her husband.  She is survived by her two children, five grandchildren, three nieces, and five nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held in Lingle Chapel at Davidson College Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 23rd at 2:30PM.
