Mary Laura Olson
November 14, 1984 — May 7, 2017
Mary Laura loved trips to the beach as well as the mountains with her many friends. She was a fun loving and outgoing person. She had an infectious laugh and personality and could always make everyone’s day better by being with her.
Mary Laura was the definition of elegance and grace. Her silent strength and verve for life is indescribable. She taught us so much about living life. She has a special love with her parents, sisters, grandparents, and cousins. Mary Laura was always surrounded by friends that loved her and the special love of her life, Patrick, who adored her. Mary Laura’s family and friends cherished her.
Survivors include her loving parents Sheldon Olson and Susan Gail McAlister Olson, of Cornelius, beloved sister, Susan Lee Olson of Cornelius, life-partner of 12 years, Patrick Jay McLawhorn of Greenville, NC, grandparents, George and Mary McAlister of Cornelius, NC, uncles’ Gary and Michael McAlister, and cousins, Cleat and Britt McAlister. Loved-ones prior deceased are Kristen Ashley Olson, sister, and grandparents Harvey and Lee Olson.
Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday, May 11, 2017 at The Memorial Baptist Church, Greenville, NC with Dr. Brad Smith officiating. Interment will be held 1PM Friday, May 12, 2017 at MT Zion United Methodist Church cemetery. All friends are invited.
