Mary Elizabeth Crowell

Mary Elizabeth Crowell, 90, of Cornelius, North Carolina passed away September 20, 2022.

She was born October 14, 1931 in Lee County, South Carolina to the late Heyward Berry and Ida Mae Rogers Berry. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Milton Crowell.

Mary worked as a secretary in the insurance industry for over 30 years. In her free time she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and dancing. She attended Cornelius Presbyterian Church and in her younger years served as a reading tutor to both children and adults. Above all, Mary was a devoted mother and homemaker, and greatly cherished time spent with her family.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Janice Livingston of Florida, Peggy Hoke of Mooresville, and Carol Erwin of Cornelius; brother, Heyward B. Berry of Columbia, South Carolina; seven grandsons, Lucas and Thomas Fisher, Spencer and Austin Hoke, and Eric, Andy, and Jake Erwin; and great-grandchildren, Ava Jane, Jack, Ty, and Vivian Fisher, Jodi, Ian, Hayley, Graham, and Colin Hoke, and Veda and Sylvie Erwin.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
