Mary Anderson Andrews

Mary Anderson Andrews, 83, of 140 Carriage Club Drive, Mooresville, NC, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 62 years of James Andrews. Besides her husband she leaves to cherish her memory a son, Dean Andrews and his wife Diane of Chicago IL, three daughters, Nikki Andrews and her husband Michael Donovan of Worcester MA, Alexis Andrews and her husband Robert Ade of Mahwah NJ, and Jayne Peterson and her husband Eric of Mooresville NC, nine grandchildren, Jayme, Jared, Jordan, Christopher, Jessica, Kelsey, Michael, Dane and Vanessa, and a brother, Nicholas Anderson of Queens NY. She was predeceased by her brother Alex Anderson. Born in Brooklyn NY on April 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Georgia Papadopoulos Anderson. Mary graduated from Girls Commercial High School in 1946. A resident of Brooklyn NY for many years, she moved to Pound Ridge NY after raising her four children and spent 20 years there before moving to Wayne NJ and then to Mooresville NC. Mary worked with her husband at their family business, Coyne Electric, for many years. Mary was a member of Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church. Mary will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her unwavering devotion to family. Her delicious Yiayia cookies will be missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Churchill Assisted Living in Mooresville NC for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville NC from 1-4. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
