Mary Alease Helms Hill Broome

Mrs. Mary Alease Helms Hill Broome, 98, a resident of the Huntersville Oaks, Huntersville NC passed away September 21, 2011. She was born January 22, 1913 in Monroe NC to the late J. Walter Helms and Mary Helms Helms. In addition she is preceded in death by two brothers, Heath and Dempster Helms of Monroe NC. The widow of Brice Clayton Hill of Monroe, NC and Ned W. Broome of Charlotte she is survived by her son, Charles D. Hill and wife Gail of Huntersville; three grandchildren, Karen (Jimmy) Hampton, Michael (Kathy) Hill, Kathy H. Ginn; four great grandchildren, Hunter Hampton, Nolan Hampton, Hannah Ginn, Brandon Hill; sister, Edith Harkey of Palatka, FL; two brothers, Edwin (Bel) Helms, Sib (Lucy) Helms of Monroe and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Broome was a graduate of Wingate College with a major in music. She taught music to children and was pianist for three area churches in Monroe for thirty years. She was President and co-owner of Broome Bros Trailer Service Inc in Charlotte, NC Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 24, 2011 at Suncrest Cemetery in Monroe, NC Our family would like to thank the staff on Gardenia Row at the Huntersville Oaks for all their loving care and compassion.
