Martin Spatz
October 26, 1931 – March 24, 2018

Marty passed away at the age of 86 in his home, surrounded by love. He was born in New York and attended The Ohio State University where he met and fell in love with Audree Mayer. They were married for 64 years. He served overseas in the Korean War and upon his return, he joined his father’s business, Star Binding and Trimming. Audree and Marty lived in the New York area for 50 years while Marty worked very hard and made the business a success. When he retired they moved to Denver, North Carolina and enjoyed their life together on Lake Norman.

Marty was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back.  He was generous and kind and helped many people in need. He was a man of high principles and always told his kids and grandkids to live life to the fullest.  He lived his life on the premise that at the end of the day you should be able to hold your head up high and when people walk by you, they should say: “He is a good, honest and honorable man.”

Audree and Marty enjoyed traveling the world together. Marty is survived by his wife Audree, their 3 children, and 7 grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service to be held on Thursday, March 29 at 1:30pm at Temple Kol Tikvah of Lake Norman at 605 South Street, Davidson, NC. Instead of flowers the family requests donations to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078, hpccr.org.
