Martin "Skip" L. Howard

Martin "Skip" L. Howard, 83, of Cornelius, NC passed away Sunday March 16, 2014. Skip was born October 21, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Martin and Margaret Zender Howard. He was a retired building engineer for the Tampa Bay Orthopedic Specialists. Skip enjoyed playing golf, cooking and gardening. He was a sports enthusiast who loved to follow the Florida Gators and was well-known for his superior handyman skills. Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was his favorite pastime. Along with his parents, Skip was preceded in death by his three brothers and four sisters. Skip leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Irene K. Dunne Howard; daughter, Jill McDowell and her husband Mark of Cornelius; grandson, Reilly Price McDowell; granddaughter, Reagan Dunne McDowell; three sisters and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 20, 2014 from 6-8PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. The funeral service will be Friday March 21, 2014 at 11AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, Huntersville, NC. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion, Cornelius, NC.
