Martha Sue "Susie" Wooten Susie Steen Wooten of Cornelius, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 11th . Susie lived most of her adult life around Lake Norman. Beloved mother to Amy Gantt Fairchild & husband Roger, and Woody Wooten Jr. & wife Ginny. Adoring "Nana" to granddaughter Abigail June Wooten, who was the light of her life. Susie was loved by many family members including: Parents: Claude & Beatrice Steen (deceased); Brother: Allen Steen and wife & Special Sister -Tina Steen, Mooresville NC; Sisters: Robin Steen Allison, Clemmons NC, Barbara A. Campbell, Rockwell NC, Pennie S. Lee Rockwell, NC; Nephews & Nieces: Roger, Michael, Candace, Natalie, Chris, Garrett, Bryan; Great Nephews: Matt, Clayton; Aunts, Uncle, Cousins and countless friends and neighbors. Mommy to special pets Lucy, Scarlett, Molly, Shotz and Naked Bird Toby (deceased). Her smiling face, warm, loving, and vibrant personality were endearing to so many. A true lady who was the epitome of Southern Hospitality. She loved to cook and shared her talent and meals with many. Her specialties were macaroni & cheese, banana pudding, all things sweet, and "water, tea, sundrop, coffee?". She was a talented decorator and designer making everything she touched more beautiful. She enjoyed gardening, painting, knitting, shopping, reading, cooking shows and spending time with family and friends. She always made time to listen and share, and had a beautiful spirit. Even after life, she gave to others by donating tissue to LifeShare. A graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kannapolis she worked in banking, customer service, Southern Christmas shows, event planning and home health care. A Celebration of Susie's life will be held Wednesday, April 17th at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of Raymer- Kepner Funeral Home. Friends and Family meet immediately following service. In lieu of flowers family requests donations to education fund for Abigail June Wooten % Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, N.C. 28078 "I see skies of blueclouds of white, bright blessed daysdark sacred nights, and I think to myselfwhat a wonderful world".
