Mark Francis Brennan

February 20, 1953 — July 18, 2020

Mark Francis Brennan, 67, of Cornelius, North Carolina, passed away on July 18, 2020.

Mark was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on February 20, 1953 to the late Harry Brennan and Elizabeth Bean. Along with his parents, Mark is preceded in death by his grandmother Marian Bean, his stepfather William Sherwood, and his uncle, Carroll Cusick. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Leigh Brennan, two stepsons, Jared and Caleb Blank, his son from a previous marriage, Ryan Brennan Sweet, brother Stephen Brennan, his aunt Rosemarie Cusick, cousins William Cusick and wife Nidia, Paul Cusick and wife Christine and Kathleen Nye and husband Jason,

Mark grew up in the town of Webster, Massachusetts where he graduated high school, and attended a few semesters of college. A brief period as a shift supervisor at Guardian Glass gave him a taste for business management and eventually led to his career as an entrepreneur in marketing and manufacturing. From there he went on to work for Mr. Christmas which took him from Massachusetts to California and later, Tennessee, where his son, Ryan was born in 1990. He then transitioned into a job in the toy industry with Mel Appel for 4 years and then another 3 years with Marvin Azrak of REMCO, both in New York where he commuted from home in New Jersey. He then moved his family to Shelby, North Carolina in 1998 and began his own business, BSI, an electronics manufacturing company, and later Kimark International where they developed scanners for NASCAR. He traveled extensively during the next several years to China and Hong Kong where he grew to appreciate the culture and spirit of Hong Kong’s people. In 2015, he decided to seek retirement, but soon after grew restless. Wanting to keep busy but at a slower pace, he started driving a limousine for Silver Fox Limo.

During his free time Mark played pool and was a high-ranking player for several years on both 8-ball and 9-ball APA teams in Cornelius. This is where he met his second wife, Lisa Leigh, whom he married in July of 2019. He also enjoyed spending time on the lake, fishing or just basking in the sunshine, rocking on the waves in their pontoon boat. Many have heard him say that this was the best part of his life.

A celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the home of Jennifer and Ed Hahn at 9218 Magnolia Estates Drive, Cornelius, NC 28031. Please observe social distancing guidelines whenever possible.
