Mark Russell Boyer, a true Saint and cherished brother, was called home by his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on June 5, 2023. Claiming eternal victory over the cancer that warred on his body. Born June 25, 1949, Mark was 73 at the time of his departure, he goes before his brother Jon, his sister Teresa, his nieces Montana, Sammie, Shannon, and Amalia, nephews Jonathan, Mike, and Greyson, great nephews Hudson, Henry, and Nico and great niece, Sophia.
The place Mark filled in our lives can only be filled by God Himself, the gentle and lowly spirit of Mark, characterized by his quiet loving presence, kind words of encouragement and willingness to help out a person in need, was known to all who encountered him and second only to Christ. He was a man quick to listen, and slow to speak and even slower to anger. His words were always chosen carefully and contained a depth of sympathy and compassion rarely found.
Mark was a carpenter and a fixer, a jack of all trades, he delighted his loved ones with handmade gifts and was quick to help fix the small and big problems they had Always thinking of those he loved, Mark would drop everything for a friend in need. The life Mark lived is a legacy and model for those grieving, never wishing to add to someone's burden but doing all to help lessen the weight of another's load. He found his joy in helping those he loved. Just sitting in the room with Mark was comforting, and we await the day we will be able to sit with him again. Knowing he is waiting for us in heaven, I echo his parting wish "Don't be sad but rejoice" Mark knew he was going to a better place as only a Christian can, and does not want you to hurt, or grieve but to trust in Christ as he did and to join him one day in that beautiful place without pain or sin, where every tear is wiped from our eyes by God Himself.
We shall ever miss our beloved Mark, brother, uncle, and the bestest of friend and until we see him again face to face, we shall carry him with us in heart, mind, and deed. Prayer for the family appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, prayers are appreciated.
