Marie Julia Maley

Marie Julia Maley passed away peacefully on August 12, 2023, at the age of 89. She was born on March 13, 1934, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania to the late Peter and Julia Olinski. Marie was a Catholic by faith.

A graduate of the McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing, Marie had a fulfilling career as a caring and compassionate nurse. She also had a number of interests and hobbies that she enjoyed, especially playing golf at South Hills Country Club. In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Richard Maley; five sisters; one brother and a great-grandson, Andrew Steen.

She will be greatly missed by her cherished children, Sherie (Ken) Burns, Dr. Warren (Meighan) Maley, Mimi Maley Paffenroth and Dr. Richard (Julie) Maley Jr.

Marie was blessed with ten grandchildren who brought boundless joy into her life, Ken (Becky) Burns Jr. and Kristie (Tim) Steen; Ian Maley and Devon (Zack) Shapiro; Alexandra (Jeffrey) Buck and David (Lauren) Paffenroth Jr.; Nick Maley, Dr. Owen (Kim) Maley, Dr. Rachel Maley and Jake Maley; and twelve great-grandchildren, Nate, Chloe and Tripp Burns; Sophia, Evelyn and William Steen; Wren Shapiro; Maley, Makenna and Maverick Buck; and Alice and Reina Maley.  Marie cherished them all. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Olinski.

Services will be privately held by the family.
