Marianne Corser

Marianne Elizabeth Lucas Corser born in Cortland, New York on May 4, 1938 to the late Ralph and Marcella Lucas (nee Hamill) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family March 24, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Paul J. Corser and her two sons, William (Jane) and Jeffrey (Casey) and her grandchildren: Collette, J.P. and Annie.

While born in New York, Paul, Marianne and their sons relocated to Charlotte in the spring of 1972 where they still reside.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Marcella Lucas and her sister, Joanne Henderson. Marianne is survived by her brother, John Lucas (Leah), brother-in-law, Allen Henderson; nephews, a niece, great nephews, great nieces and cousins.  

As endless as the stars are in Heaven, so is the love she had for her children and grandchildren.  The quintessential grandmother, she introduced the beach, or “Big Water” as Nana called it to each of her grandchildren, and cheered proudly at everything they participated in, be it sports, music or dance!  Her presence and unconditional love will truly be missed by all.  

A private family memorial service will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Cemetery in Groton, New York on Saturday April 1st where she will return home to rest in peace with her parents and sister.
