Margie Vanica Johnston Taylor

April 15, 1923 — September 28, 2017

Margie Vanica Taylor of Huntersville passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2017 at the age of 94.  Margie was born on April 15, 1923 and was a native of Mecklenburg County.  She graduated from Huntersville High School in 1939.  She was the daughter of Sara Mae Caldwell and Albert Johnston.  Margie was preceded in death by her husband Clyde W. Taylor, two sisters; Dorothy Earnhardt and Evelyn Johnston and one brother, Albert “Buddy” Johnston.

Margie retired from years of service from Money’s Dry Cleaners of Huntersville and Huntersville Family Dry Cleaners.  Her hobbies included sewing and working in her garden.  Margie loved spending time with family and friends and regularly attended Huntersville ARP Church and enjoyed fellowship with her church family.

Margie will be greatly missed by her nieces, Lois Lathan, of Richmond, VA, Ann Settlemyer of Lorena,TX, and nephew David Earnhardt and wife Dianne of Huntersville and her many great nieces and nephews and also great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Sunday October 1, 2017 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, 16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC.  Funeral services will take place at The Huntersville ARP Church, 200 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville on Monday October 2, 2017 at 1:30 pm.  Burial will follow at The Huntersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Huntersville ARP Church.  Friends may offer condolences to the family at www.raymerfh.com.
