Margarita Cortez Gonzales

Margarita Cortez Gonzales, 92, of Huntersville, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017 at The Pavilion @ Brightmore, Charlotte. Margarita was born February 28, 1925 In Miami, AZ to the late Epifanio Cortez and Segunda Lerma Castelleno. She was a devout Catholic who loved Jesus. She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family and the wonderful people at her nursing home.

Along with her parents, Margarita was preceded in death by her husband Larry L. Gonzales; five children, Ramona, Gloria, Manuel, David, and Omar.

She is survived by her loving family; sons, Bobby Gonzales of CA, Larry L Gonzales and his wife Tina of Huntersville, Ernest Gonzales of TX,; daughter, Martha Gonzales of CA; numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Christ Community Church, with Rev. Jeff Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery, Cornelius, NC.   Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Community Church, 16301 Old Statesville Rd., Huntersville, NC, 28078.
