Margaret Edgar Sellers

Margaret Edgar Sellers (Mardy), age 85, of Davidson, NC, died on September 30, 2011. Born December 18, 1925, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. Edgar and Dorothy Dunlap Edgar. After graduation from Wellesley College, Mardy worked for a law firm as well as Koppers Company in Pittsburgh. Once her four children were in school, she worked for the school corporation in Evansville, IN as a Special Education Assistant for the visually impaired. She was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church, the Unity Church choir, the East Lincoln Community Chorus, P.E.O. (an educational, philanthropic organization for women), as well as garden clubs and several bridge clubs. She was an active volunteer in the home meals program of East Lincoln Christian Ministries, having delivered home meals for the past 30 years wherever she lived. Mardy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harold C. Sellers; daughters Susan D. Maddox and husband, Tom, of Chesterfield, MO; and Barbara A. Ellsworth and husband, Eric, of Indianapolis, IN; sons Andrew E. Sellers and wife, Anne, of Indianapolis, IN; and Robert J. Sellers and fiancé, Patty Bornes, of Charlotte, NC; as well as grandchildren, Bryan and Allison Maddox, Betsy and husband, Jimmy Harte, Patricia and Susie Miller, Jane and Mary Sellers and Benjamin and Noah Sellers; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Harte and Alexis Miller. Also surviving are brothers Robert F. Edgar and William D. Edgar and wife, Patricia, of Pittsburgh, PA. A memorial service will be held at Unity Presbyterian Church in Denver, NC, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 29th with a reception following in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Presbyterian Church, 8210 Unity Church Rd., Denver, NC, 28037 or East Lincoln Christian Ministries, P.O. Box 421, Denver, NC, 28037. Mardy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known for her kindness and compassion. The only pain she ever caused was when she left us.
