Margaret Batson Mayhew

Margaret Batson Mayhew, 72, of Denver, NC died Sunday June 12, 2011 at her residence after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Born May 10, 1939 in Wilmington NC she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Batson and Mary Coley Batson. Margaret graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC and Mercy School of Nursing in Charlotte, NC as a registered Nurse. She worked until her retirement at E I Dupont in Wilmington, NC as an industrial Nurse. Margaret was an avid reader, loved to work puzzles and trade both with family and friends. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday June 14 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC with Rev. Rick Felts officiating. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of fifty years, Jerry Mayhew; sons, Jerry Mayhew, Jr., Richard Mayhew, Bryan Mayhew and wife Beth Ann and four grandchildren.
