Mrs. Margaret Ann Judkins Cifarelli, 72, of Davidson, NC died Tuesday November 22, 2011 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House following a courageous battle against lung cancer. Born June 16, 1939 in Lima, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Russell Judkins and Margaret Dolt Judkins. Margaret spent her early years in the town of Delphos, Ohio. Her family moved to Dinuba, California in 1947. She graduated from San Jose State University in 1961 and later received a Masters Degree from the College of St. Thomas in Minnesota. In 1962 Margaret began a long teaching career in Southern California working in the Torrance Unified School district. In 1995 Margaret moved with her husband to North Carolina and taught 8 years in the Iredell-Statesville school district until her retirement in 2003. After retirement Margaret kept active as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and the Davidson chapter of Loaves and Fishes. Her most enjoyable activity was as a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital of Huntersville; the Huntersville Presbyterian network of volunteers became a second family to Margaret that provided tremendous support to her as she battled her illness. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and doing cross word puzzles and also developed a passion for doing Tai Chi. Everyone who met her recognized instantly her inner beauty and joy for life. Memorial Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday November 27, 2011 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. The family will receive friends following the service. A private interment in Mimosa Cemetery will be conducted at a later date. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 28 years, Victor V. Cifarelli; son, James Cramton of San Pedro, CA; sister, Carla Jean Harter of Delphos, OH; niece,Denise (Mike) Matson of Findlay, OH; nephews, Doug (Mary Jo) Weaver of Columbus, OH, Craig (Kathy) Weaver of Santa Rosa, CA; great nieces, Katie (Austin) Taylor of DE, Lydia Weaver of CA; great nephews, Andrew Weaver of Santa Rosa CA, Sean Matson of Toledo, OH; great nieces, Kaitlyn Weaver of Santa Rosa, CA, Erin (David)James of Charlotte, Shelby Matson of Columbus, OH; great great niece, Mallory Taylor; great great nephew, Max Taylor; cousin, Cindy Eddy of Grove City, OH. In addition she leaves in-law relatives who came to love and cherish her. These include sister-in-laws Paula Zeiner of Windsor, Ct., Donna Winter of Hartford, Ct., and Corrinne (Joel) Lomazzo of East Hartford; Nieces and nephews including Matthew Zeiner, Elizabeth Zeiner (Robert) Azud, and Christine Zeiner; Turk Winter and Domenick Winter; Carla Cifarelli; Gavin Lomazzo and Sarah Lomazzo; and Anabelle Linda Cifarelli, a.k.a von Albrecht, of Bermuda. Margaret also leaves four great-nephews and nieces, Jared Zeiner, Brandon Azud, Corrinne Winter, Austin Winter, and Nathan Santos. Margaret also leaves extended family Patricia Cifarelli, Raymond Zeiner and Vicki Yabrosky. In addition to her parents, Russell and Margaret Judkins she was preceded in death by her uncle, Donald Judkins, aunt, Belle (Judkins) Eddy and brother-in-law, Rollin Weaver. In addition to family, Margaret leaves behind a great number of devoted friends, all of whom played important support roles in helping her fight the disease. The family is especially grateful to those friends who played important roles as caregivers: Doris Gentle of Kannapolis; Susan Ketner and Barbara Weiant of Davidson; Marge Prokupek, Mellissa Poteat and Elaine Johnson of Statesville.
