Marcia D. Rush

Marcia D. Rush, 76, of Huntersville, NC passed away on February 24, 2021.

Marcia was born in Coral Gables, FL on November 15, 1944, to the late Chester and Garland Diffenderfer.

Marcia loved spending time with her loved ones, and hosting friends and out of town guests. She had the ability to make everyone feel at home. When living in Springfield, Virginia, where they raised their three children, she was very involved with the Orange Hunt Swim Club and was an active tennis player. Once the family moved to Plano Texas, she enjoyed gardening and decorating.

She enjoyed her neighborhood bunco parties and her Friday lunches with friends. Randy and Marcia were avid movie fans and always had tickets to the new releases. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she spent many days decorating the house, with multiple trees and Randy and Marcia’s amazing Christmas village.  Her four-legged companions, Bichon Friese’s, Joe-Joe, Sugar, and Crisco were considered her babies and she adored them.  Marcia was outgoing and one of a kind. Her heart was full of love, and she will be tremendously missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Chet Diffenderfer.

She is survived by her spouse of 56 years, Randy Rush, her sister, Barbara Morrison (Charles Morrison), her sister-in-law, Toni Diffenderfer, her daughters Tracey Chantry (Pete Chantry) and Amy Carey, and her son, Michael Rush (Julie Rush). She also leaves behind a loving extended family of 8 grandchildren, 4 nephews, and 2 nieces.

A private memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, March 7th at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. The service will be streamed live, for family and friends who are unable to attend. Details for the video stream will be provided prior to the service.
