Luther Frederick Huskey, 71, passed away October 7, 2018 at Atrium-University Hospital in Charlotte, NC.

He was born August 25, 1947 to the late Rayford and Dora Huskey in Greenville, South Carolina.

Along with his parents, Luther is preceded in death by his two sisters, one brother, and son Ronnie Hedgecoe.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Huskey; four daughters Andrea Ellis (Jeff) of Georgia, Susan Potter (Robert) of Georgia, Carolyn Hedgecoe of Charlotte, and Jessica Huskey; son Robert Huskey (Victoria Holt) of Charlotte; Brother Ronald Huskey; seven grandchildren, Jonathon(Candise), Cadie, Steven(Amelia), Tesla, Alex (Stephanie), Jacob, and Joseph; and seven great grandchildren, Sade, Isaiah, Myleah, Ariahna, Lila, Raelyn, and Jackson.

Luther was very proud of being a Navy Vietnam Vet. He loved his family and friends. Luther also enjoyed panning for gold, camping, playing pinochle, and cooking.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars(https://www.vfw.org/) or the American Lung Association (American Lung Association, National Direct Response Headquarters, 1200 Hosford Street, Suite 101 Hudson, WI 54016-9316) in Luther’s honor.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 13, 2018 at 11:00AM at Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church located at 8200 McClure Cir, Charlotte, NC 28216. Burial arrangements at Black Mountain Cemetery are currently pending.
