Lois Ailean Smith

Lois Ailean Smith, 90, passed away on August 6, 2021 in Huntersville, NC. She was born to the late, Floyd and Hazel Medsker in Indianapolis, IN on November 30, 1930.

Along with her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her son, James Matthew Smith in 2020; husband, James Arthur  Smith in 1998; sister, Dorothy Kingery, half brother James D. Medsker.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Straub and her fiancé, Isaac Thompson (Zeke),  Susan (John) Ehrsam, Kathleen (Ian) Haley; sisters, Betty Dillard and Thelma R. Fairfield, half sisters Charlotte D. (Medsker) Folkening, Marjorie J. Medsker; brothers, Floyd R. Medsker , Robert Medsker ,and half brothers, Randall W. Medsker and Ronald L. Medsker; two grand children; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association or Bethel Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 2:00PM  at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home located at 16901 Old Statesville Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.  A reception will follow the service at the Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.
