Lleana Lee

Lleana Wahllel “Wally” Lee, age 91, of Charlotte, NC formerly of Tulsa, OK passed away on May 14, 2019 at The Haven.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff there for their loving care and kindness during her declining health. She was also under the skilled and compassionate care of Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman.

Wally was born in a teacherage in Mershon, OK on February 27, 1928 to the late Eugene Kuykendall and Byrda Goode Kuykendall. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jack Bellamy Lee, whom she met while attending Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, OK.

She is survived by her son, William E. Lee (Deborah); daughter, Cynthia L. Butcher (Jess); grandsons, Jesse Butcher (Corkey) and Jack Butcher. Also sisters, Stella Faye Dobson and Janis Webb-Scott, as well as nieces and nephews and other extended family. Wally enjoyed engaging with people, playing card games, staying active and shopping.

The family will hold a private service and transport her remains to join family in Oklahoma.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western Carolina Chapter in Charlotte or Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman.
