Linda Urbach, 78, of Cornelius, NC died on January 8, 2019 from complications after surgery. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Linda was born to Hanna and Albert Abrams of York, PA on March 22, 1940. She grew up in York and graduated from Gerorge Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she met her husband, Peter, whom she married in 1965. She was a high school teacher in Northern Virginia in the early years of her marriage and later she worked with her husband helping him to establish his electronic publishing business. Over the years she made wonderful homes for her family in Fairfax VA, Boston MA, Sunapee NH and Cornelius, NC. Sunapee was a first retirement for 15 years with her heavy involvement in community activities including the local library. Cornelius was a second somewhat more sedentary retirement closer to family.
Although plagued with health issues for many years, Linda led an active, productive, and happy life. Her many volunteer activities included serving as President of the Boston Ostomy Association - where she counseled new ostomates and gave presentations to doctors and nurses at local hospitals - and the Board of Temple Obahei Shalom in Brookline, MA.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; her son, Michael and wife Suzanne and their three children, Michaela, John, and Sydney who live in Cherry Hill, NJ; and her son, Steven and wife Jennifer and their two children Camryn and Joshua who live in Charlotte, NC; and her brother Neal Abrams who lives in Edinburgh, Virginia.
Services will be held privately.
The family is under the care of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Huntersville. Online condolences may be made at kepnerfh.com.
