Linda Jean Thompson

September 1, 1945 — March 9, 2016

Linda Jean Cunningham Thompson, 70, of Cornelius, NC passed away on March 9, 2016 at the Brian Center in Mooresville, NC.

She was born on September 1, 1945 to the late Edward L. Cunningham and Beatrice Wood Cunningham Walters.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ted Hampton Thompson.

She is survived by her son, Paul Allen Smith, III (Kathy) and family; daughter, Melissa Anne Thompson and grandson, Joshua Thompson; daughter Amy Nicole Thompson and granddaughter, Isabella Thompson; one brother, two sisters and longtime friends, Roy and Sybil Davis.

Linda was an avid sports fan; some of her favorite teams included the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Braves. She also loved spending time at her beach house.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Grace Covenant Church, Cornelius, NC. She will be laid to rest following the service at Mimosa Cemetery in Davidson.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Catawba Regional Hospice.
