Linda Sedgwick, a truly creative spirit and beloved family member, passed away on February 5, 2025, in Cornelius, North Carolina, at the age of 79. Born on December 23, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda's journey through life was marked by her artistic talents, spiritual depth, and zest for living.

Growing up in Cincinnati, Linda developed an appreciation for the arts and nature that would shape her passions throughout her lifetime. She spent a significant portion of her life in the picturesque Hudson River Valley in New York, where she raised her son, Mark, and flourished as an artist. Later, moving to North Carolina to be close to family and friends. There, she continued to nurture her artistic creativity, proudly publishing four books that showcased her vivid imagination and originality. Linda was known for her extraordinary ability to express herself through mixed media, black & white ink, and oil painting, often drawing inspiration from the captivating landscapes and water that surrounded her.

Her adventurous spirit drove her to explore many interests and hobbies. Linda was particularly passionate about cooking, often experimenting with spices to create savory salads and a variety of flavors that delighted her family and friends. Her love for the outdoors led her to engaging activities like kayaking and traveling to the beach, with Lake Lure holding a special place in her heart. She also found solace in meditation groups, where her free-spirited nature resonated with others on similar journeys.

In her personal life, Linda was devoted to her family. She is survived by her son, Mark Sedgwick, and daughter-in-law, Stacey Sedgwick, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Alexis Sedgwick and Asher Sedgwick. The warmth she shared with her loved ones will forever be a part of their cherished memories. Linda is also survived by her sister-in-law, Cathy Meyer, and numerous extended family members who fondly remember her spirit and creativity.

Linda will be lovingly remembered as a devoted daughter to her late parents, Walter and Elsa Meyer, and a dedicated sister to her late brother, Jeffrey Meyer. Her legacy of love, creativity, and exploration will continue to inspire those who knew her. A free spirit, Linda Sedgwick embraced life with passion and grace, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the pleasure to know her.

A memorial service will be held at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC on Sunday, March 30 at 2:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lake Lure Hurricane Recovery.
