Linda Louise Hofmann, 60, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 after a year and a half journey with lung cancer.
Linda was born in New Jersey, but was raised in Rockland County, New York. She was the second oldest of five children. Linda is survived by her four siblings, Glenn Hofmann, Alan Hofmann, Carol (Hofmann) O’Reilly, and Janis (Hofmann) Ker, as well as her parents, Otmar J. Hofmann and Doris L. Hofmann.
Linda graduated from SUNY Binghamton in upstate New York in 1983, cum laude as a German major. She spent junior year living abroad in Graz, Austria and recently reflected that it was one of the fondest years of her life. She traveled extensively over her lifetime visiting Israel, Russia, Peru and many countries in Europe.
Linda lived in New York City as well as San Francisco before settling down in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was an English teacher at UNC Charlotte and cherished her fellow colleagues as friends, as well as her friends at the dog park, book club, and neighbors.
She loved creative writing, buying and caring for plants, attending church and going to the beach and mountains with her friends. She was an avowed dog lover and all of her dogs were rescues.
Linda also loved her Lutheran Church, church friends and Pastor Doug at Huntersville Lutheran Church. She is now living with Jesus in her heavenly home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to: Huntersville Lutheran Church, 10928 Heritage Green Drive, Cornelius, NC 28031
