Linda S. Dickerson, 77, of Huntersville, N.C. passed away on July 16, 2018. She was born in Huntersville on May 28, 1941 to the late Buford N. Stevens and Kathleen R. Zimmerman.
She is preceded in death by her husband, B. Cecil Dickerson, and is survived by her two children, Alicia S. Hofler married to Geoffrey A. Krafft and Richard D. Hofler married to Jeanette G. Hofler, and her grandchildren, Athena M. Krafft, Konrad J.J. Krafft, and Genevieve M. Hofler.
After graduation from the University of North Carolina, she moved to Virginia and lived there for nearly 35 years raising her children from her first marriage. She worked as a librarian at Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton, Virginia while earning Master’s degrees in Education and Library Science. She returned home to Huntersville to care for her mother. Throughout her life, she was known for her devotion to her family, wonderful cooking, incredible gardening skills, and love of animals, music, books, and playing bridge.
She was a staunch supporter of orderly, rational, and reasoned discourse as a member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and our nation’s democratic process as an elections worker.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on July 28, 2018 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church followed by a graveside service and reception also at the church.
