Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother
Lillian Houle Pudney, 95, passed away on Monday, May 29. Lillian was currently living in Charlotte, North Carolina, but previously lived in Barefoot Bay, Florida, and Marcy, New York.
Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Friend, you have been one of the happiest, strongest women we have had the pleasure to love. So beautiful inside and out, so full of life and love, so supportive, so funny and so talkative – we can’t forget talkative. To know you was to love you!
Lillian was born on November 7, 1921 in Goffstown, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Leon and Claudia Ouelette Houle. Lillian married the love of her life, Donald Pudney on February 17, 1942.
Lillian retired from the Whitesboro School District where she held various positions in the cafeterias at Deerfield Elementary School and Whitesboro High School. She was a member of the Barefoot Bay Red Hat Society, VFW, and Moose Lodge. Lillian enjoyed spending time at the ocean or the pool, swimming, walking, riding her scooter, and reading. She loved going on cruises, it didn’t matter where the ship was headed, she was just happy to be on it. Her biggest joy was time spent with her family and friends, visiting and reminiscing.
A devoted wife, Lillian and Don were married for 56 years until his passing in 1998. They did everything together. She was a loving Mom to their four sons and their spouses: Donald Jr. and Faye Rosselle, Erik and Sheila, Daryl and Georgianna, and Marc and Diane. Grandmother to her cherished grandchildren: Trish (Kale), Troy (Melissa), Derek (deceased), Seth (Marcela), Brian (Cheryl), Kevin (Rachel) and Hayley; great grandmother and aunt to many. Lillian was a second mother to long time family friends, the Youngkrans family whom she loved like her own.
Lillian was predeceased by her brothers Leo, Henry, Donald, and Robert and their spouses, as well as long time very best friends Edna and Al Youngkrans.
A mass to celebrate Lillian’s life will be held at a future date. Those so wishing may make donations to Hospice & Palliative Care in Lillian’s memory. Online messages of sympathy may be made Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Please share special memories you have of Lillian.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the wonderful people at The Laurels in Highland Creek in Charlotte that took such good care of our Mom. A special thank you and much love to Daryl and Georgianna for all they did for Mom on a daily basis during her time in North Carolina. Words can’t tell you how much we appreciate all that you both have done.
We love you, Mom. Thanks for being YOU!
